The already huge Universal Studios Investments are about to increase!

This week Universal announced that they would increase this year’s parks division spend to $1.1 billion.  The astonishing announcement takes some absorbing, it’s so huge a deal for Orlando.

Currently, Universal is part through a new Hotel build (Cabana Bay Beach Resort) and has just acquired a huge patch of land underneath and beside Wet n Wild.
The additional chunk of cash would take some spending in the current parks to be honest, so it may be fair to expect the Wet n Wild project to be something of a major importance to the area.  Sure we will see some big new developments in the parks, with Universal and Islands of Adventure able to soak up a piece of that investment, but the Wet n Wild area looks perfect, especially if coupled with a new Hotel as a fun resort.  Now that would start to make a hole in that $1.1 billion!

Whatever the spend is going to be on, this is really great news for Orlando fans.  More effort from Universal, does in turn, force much more effort from ‘the other people’ down the I-4.

Hopefully the bolt of investment will encourage SeaWorld/Busch to continue to develop their amazing parks too!
