Disney’s previous policy of leaving its main pools open around the clock, even after the life guards had left is about to change in the coming weeks.

Security fences will be installed around the largest feature pools and guards will be on duty right up until the pools close officially at 11pm each evening.
Once 11pm arrives, the main Walt Disney World Resort Pools will be fenced off until they open again for business next morning.

Some of the smaller pool areas will remain unguarded and unfenced at all times, and it is not yet clear what steps Disney will take to improve the safety of theses areas.
One possible course of action may be to use their regular security staff to ensure that guests refrain from using the minor pools out of hours.

The changes in the pool policy are being rolled out as an improvement to guest safety at Walt Disney World.
