Halloween Horror Nights 2014 – Walking Dead Theme
Universal have not only confirmed that the Walking Dead will feature for the third time at Universal Studios this year, but the Zombie flesh-eaters will form the centre of the event’s gruesome theming.
Beginning its fifth season this fall, AMC’s Walking Dead has been a hugely popular tale of zombie survival. Unusually, Universal have set aside its normal practice not to repeat themes, and have again chosen the Walking Dead to feature in both Hollywood’s and Orlando’s HHN events.
In past years, Universal’s build up to Orlando’s hottest Halloween event often draws criticism that the annual theme is ‘much the same as before’.
Our opinion however, is that each and every time we visit HHN, we are always entertained, terrified, excited and most of all blown away by how much better each year actually becomes. The Zombies for example, wander around the walkways, sneaking up on guests and frightening the living daylights out of all they meet. They are indeed the best of the street scarers if you set aside the ‘chainsaw guys!’.
As the first notable reports filter out this week, spare a thought for the Universal HHN Creative team. They’ve been scheming away ever since the last HHN23 show ended on November 2nd 2013. Developing the amazing mazes is a full time job for the blood spattered team that’s headed up by Michael Aiello.
HHN24 will run from September 19th through to November 1st 2014, and if usual schedules are followed, we can expect teasers for the first of the 8 ‘houses’ to emerge some time in late June. Of course, we will most certainly keep you posted!
