magicbandThere are a few (in fact quite a few) Disney shows that are a ‘must do’ during a trip to Orlando and most guests agree that rule applies for every single vacation!

Listing them in no particular order, we’ve got, the Magic Kingdom Parade (taking a few months out in Feb & March 2014), the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular Fireworks, Illuminations at Epcot, The Festival of the Lion King over at the Animal Kingdom, Finding Nemo The Musical at the Animal Kingdom and of course, last but not least, Fantasmic! at Hollywood Studios.

While the parade takes #1 spot for nostalgia and magic, Fantasmic! pulls no punches when it comes to content.  It is a huge spectacle in every sense.

When it runs on selected evenings, Fantasmic! can be a hit and miss affair, huge line waits start building long before the theatre opens and the large seated area fills at an astonishing rate, leaving groups split up for the lengthy show or worse still without bench seating to rest their ‘wait weary’ legs with.

We knew earlier in the year that Disney were experimenting with Fastpass trials for Fantasmic! but last night, the Magicband phenomena arrived at Fantasmic!, much to the delight of the lucky resort accommodation guests that last evening discovered that Fantasmic! Gets Fastpass+ at last!

Whatever your misgivings are about the RFID Magicbands that can activate Fastpasses, book tables and pay for food and souvenirs within WDW, we are now beginning to see the real mileage that the My Disney Experience service can offer.

With your Magicband you can activate a Fastpass+ reservation for rides on your cell phone via an app, by using a theme park terminal or on your laptop or tablet if connected to the internet.  This can be done several weeks ahead of your visit to the park too!

So, three guesses who is definitely going to be sitting on a bleacher next Fantasmic! show with ALL of the family for a change???
