Although much is hidden from view by the huge construction boards at Downtown Disney, work is really shaping up in readiness for the transformation into the much larger ‘Disney Springs‘.

When completed in 2016, the popular shopping area of Downtown Disney will be practically unrecognisable with almost a hundred more shops, kiosks restaurants and entertainment areas.

The signature feature of Disney Springs will be the 1900s theming and waterway features that promise to be fun places to be, including attractive water features and rumored play and splash areas.

Some areas will remain untouched, however the surrounding developments and walkways will change so much that the current layout will appear to vanish completely.

Now the Disney imagineers are fully at work, with much of the Pleasure Island demolition work well under way behind the construction boards.  New temporary bridges are being set in place to linking the West Side and Pleasure Island areas, which will enable large scale work to take place around the narrow water way that the footbridge near Planet Hollywood overlooks.
The new bridge will be located near the Characters in Flight Balloon area of the West Side.

Some views of the bridge area of Downtown Disney will vanish forever!!!

The inlet and the bridge will soon be gone forever, as the Disney Imagineers start shaping Downtown Disney into Disney Springs!
