Total Orlando got a glimpse into life on the Disney Dream and the all new stage show Beauty and The Beast on Friday November 10th. The media event took place whilst the Dream was docked at Port Canaveral, some lucky media and cast members were invited along to enjoy the new production.
Broadway Calibre Production
The Broadway calibre style show is based on the live-action movie created in 2017. The production uses some of the original songs from the original animated film, however, two new songs from the recent movie are also performed including ‘How Does a Moment Last Forever’ and ‘Days In The Sun’.
The Disney Dream is a 2,500 passenger ship with a magnificent theatre, seating 1,340 passengers at any one time. Beauty and The Beast is the newest addition to the theatre joining ‘Disney’s Believe’ and ‘The Golden Mickeys’.
The production uses actors, dancers and singers to bring to life some of the most loved Beauty and The Beast Characters using puppeteers. Disney and the creators have achieved an outstanding job at bringing both the original animation and the new Beauty and The Beast movie to life as one. Whilst they have used new technology including high tech video effects, Disney have managed to keep the nostalgia of the original ‘tale as old as time’, very much alive.
Everything about the show was impressive, from the high tech video effects which included LED walls that really draws the audience into the scenes, also ensuring that there isn’t a bad seat in the house. Right down to the amazing cast, every single singer, actor and dancer did an outstanding job, however, I have to give a special mention to Lefou who I personally found hilarious.
The seventy minute show was absolutely incredible, I honestly felt like I had just been seated and it was over, it was that enthralling.
Be Our Guest
We don’t want to give too much away but ‘Be Our Guest’ was simply breathtaking, it was so elaborate it was for sure the highlight of the show for me!
I would highly recommend the Disney Dream for the show alone, although the ship itself is absolutely breathtaking!
Another magical moment created by Disney!
