Orlando’s Halloween events start early in the season, so we thought we’d quickly run through the options for this awesome time of year!

Here are the Halloween options in Central Florida

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

  • Tasteful Fancy Dress Permitted
  • Disney’s Magic Kingdom
  • September 10th through November 1st on selected evenings
  • Best for families of all ages
    Lots of special Holiday magic and effects
    This event is worth booking well in advance!
  • Light hearted Halloween fun, nothing remotely scary
  • Special Admission Ticket required
  • Booking is recommended

SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular

  • Tasteful Fancy Dress Permitted
  • SeaWorld Orlando
  • Weekends throughout October (Sat/Sun)
  • Best for families of all ages that are already in the park
    We wouldn’t make a special visit for this event.
  • Easy going fun for younger kids and families.
  • No additional tickets required for regular guests

LEGOLAND Brick or Treat

  • Tasteful Fancy Dress Permitted
  • Weekends throughout October (Sat/Sun)
  • Best for families with younger kids
    Great for guests that are already planning a trip to the park
  • Included within the regular park admission

Busch Gardens Howl O Scream

  • No Fancy Dress or Halloween Makeup Permitted at all
  • Busch Gardens Tampa
  • Selected dates from late Sep through Oct
  • Best for Adults only (probably too intense for under 18s)
    There’s no age limit set for this event
  • An additional ticket is required

Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

  • No Fancy Dress or Halloween Makeup Permitted at all
  • Selected sates from late Sept thru early Nov
  • Best for Adults only (way too extreme for most under 16s)
    There’s no actual age limit, but discretion is required
  • An additional ticket is required
  • Booking is recommended

The Orlando Halloween Events – FAQ Tips and Advice

Q: Which is the best Halloween event in Orlando?

A: We have three answers!

  • The Magic Kingdom’s Mickey’s Not So Scary halloween Party is the ultimate for kids and families
  • Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights is the best for Adults
  • Busch’s Howl O Scream is great if you want to venture into a maze ‘Alone’

Q: Can I wear Fancy Dress at during the Halloween events in Orlando?

A: For safety reasons, costumes of any sort must not be worn at either the Howl O Scream or Halloween Horror Nights events.
Guests may visit Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP), also LEGOLAND’s Brick or treat, and SeaWorld’s Spooktacular.

Q: How Scary is the Halloween Horror Nights Event?

A: The event relies upon depictions of violence, vivid graphics, gruesome makeup and some intense sound effects and unexpected surprises.
We would put certain elements, right at the top of the scale for many guests.

Q: How Scary is the Howl O Scream Event?

A: As with the Halloween Horror Nights event, Howl O Scream relies upon intense visual and audio effects and ‘shock’ tactics that make this a real test of your ability not to panic!

Q: How Scary is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party?

A: As the name suggests, this isn’t scary, but relies upon the Halloween holiday spirit rather than scaring.  It is after all, the Magic Kingdom and crying just simply isn’t allowed here!

Q: Will other rides and attractions be open during the events?

A: Most often, yes, a good selection, if not all of the main attractions should remain open during the Halloween events, however guests should check with the respective park’s guest services before booking or entering the park

Q: Can I skip the lines to enter the Mazes at HHN or HOS?

A: Yes, both Howl O Scream and Halloween Horror Nights offer priority line passes, however they are an additional cost and availability may be limited.

Q: If it rains, can I get my money back for the special ticket Halloween events?

A: No, tickets are not refunded as a result of bad weather
