The TotalOrlando team voted for our favorite things of 2016 recently.
It caused a lot of ‘discussion’ and ended up in a few tantrums from family members and staff, as everyone fought to have their own personal favorite in the list.
Thankfully, we all ended up happy with this year’s TOP 10 Fun Things to Do in Orlando!
If you have your own favorites, please feel free to visit our Facebook page and we will definitely add some ‘Readers Top 10 suggestions too!’
Here we go (and why!)
|The Melting Pot||Fondu Restaurant
Just off International Drive on Sand Lake Rd.
Fabulous family fun with food.
Dine around little heated pots and dip in cheese, cook meats and drizzle delicious choc over fresh nibbles and fruit.
We aren’t joking, this place is serious fun for food fans!
It can be pricey, but expect to pay about the same price as a table service spot in a theme park and that would be about right.
The experience and the quality though is well worth it.

|Madame Tussaud’s||Meet Celebs up Close for the Ultimate Selfies!
Another surprise addition that’s located right under the Orlando Eye (Giant Ferris Wheel)
Waxworks seemed to be set to fade from popularity until the advent of Social Media. Who can resist getting up close and ‘uncomfortable’ with some of the most iconic superstars for a cool Facebook Profile Pic?
You will love this place more than you’d think!
|Amphicar (Boat Ride)||Take a skippered tour of Disney Springs in a Boat/Car
OK, so this going to cost you $125 to take a total of 3 of you on a 20 minute boat ride (in a car!) but you will love the adventure!
Don’t forget to video and snap away throughout the entire journey and have a fabulous voyage of a lifetime!
|Funspot||If you love karting, Funspot is pure heaven!
Short tracks, with climbs, flyovers and tight turns, the experience is a cool mixture of ‘state fair’ and a very well run ‘B attraction’.
Wrist bands get you onto each of the attractions once per day, but unlimited karting!
For added appeal the White Lightning Roller Coaster is deceptively exciting!
|Mini Golf at Disney’s Winter Summerland||Stunning Mini Golf with added Disney Magic!
If you like to enjoy Florida’s warm air to the full, then a game of Mini Golf could be a perfect way to spend a few hours of fun.
We love the beautifully themed Winter Summerland courses (Both of the 18 hole Winter and Summer courses are side by side).
$14 for adults and $12 for kids per course.
|Cirque Du Soleil||Downtown Disney Springs – La Nouba – Modern Circus!
Words simply can not describe the talent and daring of this ‘turbo charged’ show.
To call it a circus would be a massive insult but if you want to do only one show on vacation, this is without doubt, THE ONE!
La Nouba at Disney Springs
|Wild Florida||Air Boat Rides!
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, Wild Florida offers a perfect opportunity to explore ‘Old Florida’ in its natural beauty!
An airboat ride will thrill you, but so too will the sense of adventure that the original settlers had to contend with in the stunning everglades.

|A Water Park||Orlando’s Lovely Water Parks!
If your are thinking that swimming just isn’t for you, then think again!
Orlando’s Water Parks are incredibly well themed and a memorable choice for kids (and big kids) of all ages.
If you can, try to fit a water park visit in at least once during your stay!

|Manny’s Chophouse||Eat and Enjoy Life in a Traditional Steak House!
Dining is one of the most memorable experiences for Orlando visitors.
Thankfully, Orlando is blessed with an abundance of choice for family friendly dining.
One of our all time favorites is Manny’s, and their newest restaurant is on the 192 near Formosa. It’s a big restaurant and the steaks are amazing, but, if you get chance, make the effort to drive 15 minutes further and visit their original restaurant near Haines. It’s got to be the ultimate ‘raod house’ style steak house!

|Disney Springs||Downtown Disney – Dining – Entertainment & Shopping District
If you have heard of Downtown Disney?
A) You will be pleased to know it is still there!
B) It is now called Disney Springs
C) It’s now huge, and even better!
Shop, dine and have fun in the most amazing retail area in Orlando.
Take in a show, have dinner, and this venue becomes a full day destination!
